Canada Stands with Israel Once More

Tuesday, 31. January 2012 21:34 | Author:

In a recent article updated today, January 31st 2012, Globe and Mail printed and excellent article covering our Member of Parliament,John Baird’s speech in Israel given during the last few days. It affirms Canada’s position vis-a-vis Israel and should make us very proud of our nation because we have made our position very clear and also because of the boldness with which it was declared.
I firmly believe that one of the greatest reasons why Canada is being blessed at this time in history is because of our stand with Israel. Canada now enjoys the favour of many nations and her influence is growing on a regular basis.
God’s Word is very clear on this subject. Genesis 12: 3 states “I will bless those who bless thee (Israel) and I will curse those who curse thee.” Words that we must consider seriously. Below is address so that you can read the article. May God be with each of you!

Coincidence or What?

Saturday, 23. July 2011 19:00 | Author:

On my Home Page you may have noticed that I have many links for Israel.  The truth is that Canada can only remain a great nation as long as it blesses Israel.  (Genesis 12: 3)  At this present time we need to become aware of what is happening around us.

Here are a few statements to cause some reflection.  On October 30th 1991 The Madrid Peace Conference began with the key issue being that Israel must surrender land so that the world could have peace!  On October 31st the Perfect Storm hit President George H. Bush’s home in Kennebunkport Maine.  Coincidence or what?

On August 24th 1992 The Madrid Conference moved to Washington D.C. with the key issue again being that Israel had to give up land.  On that very same day, Hurricane Andrew smashed Southern Florida with and estimated damage over $30 billion dollars.  Coincidence or what?

On January 16th 1994 President Clinton wanted Israel to give up the Golan.  Within 24 hours the Northridge earthquake destroyed much in the Los Angeles area causing $25 billion dollars in damage.  Coincidence or what?

During the week of October 11th 1999, President Clinton who was the power behind Israel giving land for peace caused Jewish settlers on fifteen West Bank hilltops in Israel to be evicted.  Within a twelve hour span, the stock market in the US closed down two hundred sixty-six points, a hurricane hit the East Coast, and the West Coast was rocked by a huge earthquake!  Coincidence or what?

There are multitudes of incidents/catastrophes/hurricanes/forest fires/ floods/droughts/drops in the stock market occurring in the US within a 24 hour period of forcing Israel to give up land, but here are just a few more.

On August 15th 2005 as a part of President George W. Bush’s “Road Map to Peace” engineered by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Israel completed its withdrawal from the Gaza strip and Hurricane Katrina formed in the Atlantic causing almost two thousand deaths and $81.2 billion dollars in damages.  The only town to be totally wiped out was MS Rice’s town of birth. Coincidence or what?

On August 2nd, 2007 President Bush announced a plan to establish a five-mile wide passage from Gaza to the West Bank.  That same day the I-35 Bridge across the Mississippi collapsed, killing 13.  Coincidence or what?

More recently, on January 8th 2008 as President Bush left for negations in Israel, so that they could give up more land for ‘peace’- and divide the city of Jerusalem, freak tornadoes broke out in the Mid-west and one ripped though an obscure town in Arkansas called Jerusalem.  Coincidence or what?

While President Obama has been in the White House many attempts have been made to force Israel to give up God-given land for an empty peace.  The ‘peace’ that the Muslims offer is this: “And we will wipe Israel off the face of the map!”  Correspondingly many bad things have happened in the USA.  Keep a watch for the connections in the news.

These have been listed for your consideration: coincidence or what?

Let Truth Prevail

Saturday, 28. May 2011 19:18 | Author:

Let the Truth Prevail – May 18th 2011- published in the Star, but not in my edition.

Statements can be truly stated and yet not be statements of truth. I believe that Monday’s article in the Windsor Star entitled, “The UN ‘deplores’ Israeli attack on refugees” falls into this category. It is true that the UN may be deploring it, but the truth is that the Israelis were under attack by the muslin world that had declared the 3rd Intifada for May 15th. Anyone who was on Facebook was aware of the advertising that was done on this site attracting multitudes of extremists to try once again ‘to wipe Israel off of the face of the earth.’ The nations surrounding Israel and many of the countries at large have now succumbed to the lie that has been repeated over and over again that if Israel gave up land, the whole world would have peace! How preposterous!

The unrest in the Middle-East is not because Israel builds houses in East Jerusalem, but because its neighbouring countries don’t want Israel to exist and they have openly and repeatedly declared that they will never acknowledge the existence of the state of Israel. It is very hard to negotiate peace with people who don’t think that you exist!
Some of the documents stating Israel’s right to exist as a nation are the Bible, the Quran, the Balfour Declaration of 1917, The San Remo Resolution of 1920, The Anglo-French Boundary Convention, League of Nations July 24, 1922; and the UN, in November 1947, to name a few.
Many “Palestinians” would much rather live and work in Israel than be in a state governed by Hamas and Fatah. “Palestinians” in Israel are much better off than in other Arabic countries. They have all the liberties that the Israelis have including medical protection, education rights, political freedom, and they even have seats in the Knesset (the Israeli parliament).

To read the truth, and read it truly stated, I encourage you to open your Bible and see for yourself: Israel has not only a right to exist, but the land belongs to Israel too!

A DECLARATION FOR CANADA adapted from PSALM 91 –-in preparation for elections

Tuesday, 5. April 2011 21:54 | Author:

A DECLARATION FOR CANADA adapted from  PSALM 91 –-in preparation for elections

Canada that dwells in the secret place of the Most High

shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

Canada will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress:

Canada’s God; in him will Canada trust.

Surely he shall deliver Canada from the snare of the fowler, and

from the noisome pestilence.

He shall cover Canada with his feathers, and under his wings

shall Canada trust; his truth shall be Canada’s shield and buckler.

Canada shall not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow

that flies by day;

Nor for the pestilence that walks in the darkness; nor for the

destruction that wastes at noonday.

A thousand shall fall at Canada’s side, and ten thousand at

Canada’s right hand; but it shall not come near Canada.

Only with Canada’s eyes shall it behold and see the reward of the wicked.

Because Canada has made the Lord, which is Canada’s refuge, even

the Most High, Canada’s habitation;

There shall no evil befall Canada, neither shall any plague come near Canada’s dwellings.

For He shall give his angels charge over Canada, to keep Canada in all its ways.

They shall bear Canada up in their hands, so that Canada will not dash its foot against a stone.

Canada shall tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shall Canada trample under feet.

Because Canada has set its love upon Me, therefore will I deliver Canada: I will set Canada on high, because Canada has known my name.

Canada shall call upon Me, and I will answer Canada: I will be with Canada in trouble; I will deliver Canada and honor it.

An extra nugget for you: in the Manitoba Cree language Canada means ‘holy place’!  We are a blessed people!

The Coming Election in Canada

Monday, 28. March 2011 20:43 | Author:

“When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice!”  Proverbs 29: 2

We are about to enter what I believe can be Canada’s finest hour!  Let us not be among those whose minds and lives are molded and changed only by the media.  We are all capable of reflecting, thinking clearly and with God’s help and guidance, we can make good decisions.

I have been challenging myself  lately not to complain and grumble and would like to challenge you too.   Critical talk seems to become a sport or a free-for-all especially where politics is concerned. If you have not read my blog on True Government, I encourage you do do so now!  Government is very important and we need to be governed, otherwise we will experience the chaos that we have been witnessing recently in the Middle East and other parts of the world.  Government is vital!

Having said that, I urge everyone of us to vote on Election Day, but until then I believe that we have an obligation to our nation, to ourselves, our families and to the generations that succeed us.  In our national anthem we sing,

“God keep our land glorious and free

O Canada we stand on guard for thee.”

If ever there was a time to seek God to keep us free and to stand on guard for this nation it is now.  Can we begin to seek God in prayer?  I am including the web site from the National House of Prayer in Ottawa (www.nationatprayer.ca) and also reprinting their last e-mail.

NATION AT PRAYER Encourages Christians

to Become Engaged During Federal Election

This morning the Prime Minister announced that Canadians will go the polls on May –Canadians have expressed a variety of opinions about the upcoming federal election.  Some see it as unnecessary and a waste of money; others as an opportunity for the Canadian public to have a say in the affairs of the nation at a critical time.  Whatever one’s own views are, it’s important to remind ourselves that every Christian has the potential to impact the nation powerfully during this election – through prayer.

Those elected will be entrusted with the responsibility to make decisions which impact every one of us.  As Christians we believe that only the Holy Spirit can impart the wisdom to meet the complexities and challenges of governing wisely.  And this begins by praying for those who will be elected.

Nation At Prayer, working with other ministries, is encouraging Christians in all 308 constituencies to actively engage in prayer to ensure that God’s purposes for Canada are served through this election.

You can make a difference by encouraging Christians across the nation to -

  • Cover every constituency in prayer every day leading up to the election
  • Become knowledgeable about party platforms and the candidates who are running for election in their constituency
  • Prayerfullyand knowledgeably exercise the right to vote

An Election Prayer Guide, in both official languages, with the following suggested prayer items, is available at www.nationatprayer.ca

  • That this election will serve God’s purposes for Canada
  • That the Holy Spirit will guide campaign strategy
  • That Candidates will be filled with integrity, courage, humility, and grace
  • That the Holy Spirit will guide and guard the thoughts and speech of Candidates
  • That Candidates and campaign material will present positions and platforms clearly, openly and fully
  • That Candidates and their families will be granted wisdom, endurance, and protection
  • That the Holy Spirit will guide electors in examining Issues and candidates, and in voting
  • That every elector will cherish the right to vote
  • That every elector will exercise the right to vote
  • That elected candidates will be
    • Individuals of integrity, discernment, grace, courage and conviction
    • Individuals of vision, perseverance and character
    • Willing servants

We’d like to hear from you if you are committing to pray regularly during the election.  Please send us an email to info@nationatprayer.ca, letting us know which constituency you live in.  And let’s ensure all 308 constituencies are covered in prayer every day!

Election Prayer Guide

An Election Prayer Guide is available in both English and French at www.nationatprayer.ca
Proverbs 33: 12 “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.”  We declare that through prayer this will be true for Canada.

God bless each one of you.

Why is Canada Called a Dominion?

Tuesday, 8. February 2011 21:27 | Author:

Canada is called the Dominion of Canada.  Where did we get that name?  I will answer that by  quoting from Faytene C. Kryskow’s book, “Stand on Guard”.  This I am doing with her permission.  By the way, I highly recommend her book for a greater appreciation of our Christian heritage in this nation.

“Sir Samuel Leonard Tilley [1818-1896], then Premier of NB, was one of the 33 Fathers of Confederation.  He was a born-again Christian who always started his day with prayer and a chapter of the Bible.

When the Fathers of Confedertion were asembled discussing the terms and conditions of Confedertion and the drafting of the British North America Act there had been considerable discussinon the day before and many suggestions as to what the new United Canada should be called, and no conclusion had been reached.  The discussion on the name stood over until the next day.  The next morning, as was Sir Leonard’s custom, he read a chapter from the Bible, and that particluar morning her read Psalm seventy-two.  When reading verse eight of the Psalm, “He shall have Dominion also from sea to sea“, the thought occurred to him, ‘What a splendid name to give Canada.’

When he went back to the sitting of the convention that morning he suggested the name Dominion, which was agreed to, and Canada was called the Dominion of Canada.  A letter signed by John A. Macdonald explained to Queen Victoria that the name was a tribute to the pinciples thy earnestly desired to uphold.”   Pages 121-122.

“He shall have Dominion also from sea to sea.”

May God bless our nation and I encourage each of you to keep Canada in your prayers.

Canada Has a Godly Foundation, and a Godly Future

Friday, 21. January 2011 14:39 | Author:

As far back as 1776 God was giving prophecies regarding our nation:
“Peter Marshall’s book, The Light and the Glory, records a prophecy given by Puritan Reformers around 1776 when the British Empire Loyalists turned north to settle in Canada in order to remain under British rule. When zealous Americans sought to persecute them because of this decision, the Spirit of the Lord spoke through their prophets saying:

Do not hinder these people. Let them move to Canada. Do not seek to incorporate the land of Canada into America. I am in the independence of America from Britain, and will mightily use this country, but Canada has been reserved by Me for the last days for a special work.”

Since that time multitudes of prophetic words have come forth declaring Canada’s destiny, and many of these can be found on web sites.

Did you also know that Scriptures have been engraved into the Peace Tower of Parliament Hill in Ottawa?
On the front face we read:
Psalm 72: 1 “Thy judgments and thy righteousness unto the king.”
To the left: Proverbs 29: 18 “Where there is no vision the people perish.”
On the right side: Psalm 72: 8 He shall have dominion from sea to sea.”

This last quote is also a part of Canada’s coat of arms which in Latin reads as “A Mari Usque Ad Mare”, which means “From sea to sea.”

On the largest bell in the Peace Tower is carved the following words, “Glory to God in the highest and on Earth peace , good will to men.” Luke 2: 14

Also, the Speaker’s Chair in the House of Commons has this phrase engraved into it, once again in Latin, “Laus Deo”, which means “Praise to God”.
As you read these facts, may you be encouraged to know that God has great plans for this nation and I urge you to pray for Canada that we will fulfill our destiny.

Something Worth Thinking about this Christmas

Saturday, 18. December 2010 19:16 | Author:

Merry Christmas to each of you!

I realize that you are all busy, but do yourself a favour and please take a moment to read the following description written byDr James Allen Francis, © 1926. I trust that this will help you to focus on what is really important: Christmas is about the birth of Jesus.

One Solitary Life

He was born in an obscure village, the child of a peasant woman.
He grew up in still another obscure village where he worked in a carpenter shop until he was thirty.  Then for three years He was an itinerant preacher.

He never wrote a book.  He never held an office.  He never had a family or owned a house.  He didn’t go to college.  Except in His infancy, He never traveled more than two hundred miles from the place where he was born.  He did none of the things one usually associates with greatness.  He had no credentials but himself.

While He was still a young man the tide of public opinion turned against him.  His friends ran away.  One of them denied Him.  He was turned over to his enemies.  He went through mockery and trial.  He was nailed upon a cross between two thieves.   While he was dying, His executioners gambled for the only piece of property He had owned on earth, His seamless robe.  When he was dead, He was laid in a borrowed grave through the courtesy of a friend.

Twenty centuries have come and gone, and today he is the central figure of the human race, and the leader of mankind’s progress.  I am well within the mark when I say that all the armies that ever marched, all the navies that ever sailed, all the parliaments that ever sat, and all the kings that ever reigned put together have not affected the life of man upon this earth as powerfully as has this one solitary personality.

God bless our Prime Minster Stephen Harper

Monday, 29. November 2010 21:25 | Author:

Possibly you didn’t hear the good news on November 8th. Our Prime Minster Stephen Harper made a bold statement concerning Canada’s stand alongside of Israel.
This is timely for both nations: Canada and Israel. Israel is in great need of support from other countries at this time and Canada is a nation that is being blessed because she is blessing Israel. This is a Scriptural principle according to Genesis 12: 3 “I will bless those who bless My people…” Also it is a protection for our nation because God is very strict about nations that come against Israel.
Zechariah 12: 9 For My plan is to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.”
I am enclosing a copy of the text of Prime Minster Stephen Harper’s speech in the event that you didn’t have a chance to see it yet. Rejoice and be glad and keep our Prime Minister in prayer.

Statement by the Prime Minister of Canada on the Ottawa Conference on Combating Anti-Semitism
8 November 2010
Ottawa, Ontario

CHECK AGAINST DELIVERY

Prime Minister Stephen Harper today made the following remarks at the Ottawa Conference on Combating Anti-Semitism:

“Members of the Steering Committee, fellow parliamentarians, Ladies and gentlemen, let me begin by saying how delighted I am to see so many of you from around the world, gathered here in Ottawa for the second annual conference of the Inter-parliamentary Coalition for Combating Antisemitism.

“It is a sign, not only of your commitment to our common cause, but also of the momentum established at the London Conference last year. It is, therefore, a great sign of hope.

“History teaches us that anti-Semitism is a tenacious and particularly dangerous form of hatred. And recent events are demonstrating that this hatred is now in resurgence throughout the world. That is why the work of the Inter-parliamentary Coalition for Combating Antisemitism has never been so important or timely as it is now.

“On behalf of the Government of Canada and all Canadians, I commend you and support you in the great and important work that you are doing.

“I would like to thank Minister Jason Kenney, for inviting the ICCA to Ottawa, and for his outstanding record of leadership in combating anti-Semitism.

“I would like also to thank my introducer and friend, Scott Reid, Chair of the Canadian Parliamentary Coalition to Combat Antisemitism, and Mario Silva, Vice Chair, for organizing this conference.

“And I would like to thank all my colleagues in the Parliament of Canada here today, including Professor Irwin Cotler, for their dedication to your mission.

“Ladies and gentlemen, colleagues, two weeks ago I visited Ukraine for the first time.

“In Kiev I laid a wreath at Babi Yar, the site of one of the numerous atrocities of the Holocaust. I was left there with much the same impression as I had in Auschwitz in 2008 — that such horrors defy all comprehension.

“At the killing grounds of Babyn Yar, I knew I was standing in a place where evil — evil at its most cruel, obscene, and grotesque — had been unleashed. But while evil of this magnitude may be unfathomable, it is nonetheless a fact.

“It is a fact of history. And it is a fact of our nature — that humans can choose to be inhuman. This is the paradox of freedom. That awesome power, that grave responsibility — to choose between good and evil.

“Let us not forget that even in the darkest hours of the Holocaust, men were free to choose good. And some did. That is the eternal witness of the Righteous Among the Nations. And let us not forget that even now, there are those who would choose evil and would launch another Holocaust, if left unchecked. That is the challenge before us today.

“The horror of the Holocaust is unique, but it is just one chapter in the long and unbroken history of anti-Semitism. Yet, in contemporary debates that influence the fate of the Jewish homeland, unfortunately, there are those who reject the language of good and evil. They say that the situation is not black and white, that we mustn’t choose sides.

“In response to this resurgence of moral ambivalence on these issues, we must speak clearly. Remembering the Holocaust is not merely an act of historical recognition.

“It must also be an understanding and an undertaking. An understanding that the same threats exist today. And an undertaking of a solemn responsibility to fight those threats.

“Jews today in many parts of the world and many different settings are increasingly subjected to vandalism, threats, slurs, and just plain, old-fashioned lies.

“Let me draw your attention to some particularly disturbing trends. Anti-Semitism has gained a place at our universities, where at times it is not the mob who are removed, but the Jewish students under attack. And, under the shadow of a hateful ideology with global ambitions, one which targets the Jewish homeland as a scapegoat, Jews are savagely attacked around the world, such as, most appallingly, in Mumbai in 2008.

“One ruthless champion of that ideology brazenly threatens to ‘wipe Israel off the map,’ and time and again flouts the obligations that his country has taken under international treaties. I could go on, but I know that you will agree on one point: that this is all too familiar.

“We have seen all this before. And we have no excuse to be complacent. In fact we have a duty to take action. And for all of us, that starts at home.

“In Canada, we have taken a number of steps to assess and combat anti-Semitism in our own country. You will no doubt hear from my Canadian colleagues about the measures we have taken to date.

“I will mention for the time being that, for the first time, we are dealing with Canada’s own record of officially sanctioned anti-Semitism. We have created a fund for education about our country’s deliberate rejection of Jewish refugees before and during the Second World War.

“But of course we must also combat anti-Semitism beyond our borders, an evolving, global phenomenon. And we must recognize, that while its substance is as crude as ever, its method is now more sophisticated.

“Harnessing disparate anti-Semitic, anti-American and anti-Western ideologies, it targets the Jewish people by targeting the Jewish homeland, Israel, as the source of injustice and conflict in the world, and uses, perversely, the language of human rights to do so.

“We must be relentless in exposing this new anti-Semitism for what it is. Of course, like any country, Israel may be subjected to fair criticism. And like any free country, Israel subjects itself to such criticism — healthy, necessary, democratic debate. But when Israel, the only country in the world whose very existence is under attack — is consistently and conspicuously singled out for condemnation, I believe we are morally obligated to take a stand. Demonization, double standards, delegitimization, the three D’s, it is the responsibility of us all to stand up to them.

“And I know, by the way, because I have the bruises to show for it, that whether it is at the United Nations, or any other international forum, the easy thing to do is simply to just get along and go along with this anti-Israeli rhetoric, to pretend it is just being even-handed, and to excuse oneself with the label of ‘honest broker.’ There are, after all, a lot more votes, a lot more, in being anti-Israeli than in taking a stand. But, as long as I am Prime Minister, whether it is at the UN or the Francophonie or anywhere else, Canada will take that stand, whatever the cost. And friends, I say this not just because it is the right thing to do, but because history shows us, and the ideology of the anti-Israeli mob tells us all too well if we listen to it, that those who threaten the existence of the Jewish people are a threat to all of us.

“Earlier I noted the paradox of freedom. It is freedom that makes us human. Whether it leads to heroism or depravity depends on how we use it.

“As the spectre of anti-Semitism spreads, our responsibility becomes increasingly clear. We are citizens of free countries. We have the right, and therefore the obligation, to speak out and to act. We are free citizens, but also the elected representatives of free peoples. We have a solemn duty to defend the vulnerable, to challenge the aggressor, to protect and promote human rights, human dignity, at home and abroad. None of us really knows whether we would choose to do good, in the extreme circumstances of the Righteous. But we do know there are those today who would choose to do evil, if they are so permitted. Thus, we must use our freedom now, and confront them and their anti-Semitism at every turn.

“That, Ladies and Gentlemen, is the purpose of our intervention today: our shared determination to confront this terrible hatred. The work we have undertaken, in our own countries and in cooperation with one another, is a sign of hope.

“Our work together is a sign of hope, just as the existence and persistence of the Jewish homeland is a sign of hope. And it is here that history serves not to warn but to inspire.

“As I said on the 60th anniversary of the founding of the State of Israel, Israel appeared as a light, in a world emerging from deep darkness. Against all odds, that light has not been extinguished. It burns bright, upheld by the universal principles of all civilized nations — freedom, democracy and justice.

“By working together more closely in the family of civilized nations, we affirm and strengthen those principles. And we declare our faith in humanity’s future in the power of good over evil.

“Thank you for all you are doing to spread that faith. And thank you for your kind attention.

“Thank you very much.”

True Government

Monday, 16. August 2010 10:08 | Author:

Isaiah 9: 6-7 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called   Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end.  He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.

This quote from Isaiah refers to Messiah Jesus, but it certainly can be applied as a blessing to our own government, especially to show us that if government is important to God, then it should be important to us too.  I am not speaking about politics, but the rule of nations, particularly the rule of our nation Canada.

For most of my life, I had no understanding of government and certainly no appreciation of it either.  It was easy to criticize it and to complain, in total ignorance.  It wasn’t till the 80’ after listening to many excellent teachings on this topic and getting God thoughts about government that my mind got changed and I began to appreciate and value our nation, our government and I stopped complaining and began praying for our nation and our leaders.

It is my prayer tonight that you will also get a new appreciation for the need of government and that you too will begin to pray for Canada knowing that it is it is God’s will for us to do so.

1 Timothy 2: 1- 4 I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

God bless each one of you!

 Connie
